A dream of architects around the world! Visit BIG, a Danish architectural group

Regenerative Community Tokyo, which we co-run, is a group of members who are working together to solve urban issues in a sustainable way. It is true that at the administrative level, Tokyo is a bit weaker than European cities in its commitment to tackling urban issues. However, the fact is that there are many members who have solutions. This is because in Japan, historically and in terms of religious beliefs, “living in harmony with nature” is nothing special, and is a very normal part of everyday life. In other words, we Japanese are often unaware of our own potential. That is why we want to connect with great players who are tackling urban issues overseas.

For example, BIG in Copenhagen, which we visited this time, is a top architectural group working on solutions to urban issues around the world in a wide range of fields, including architecture, landscape design, and interior design. We think if we could upgrade their problem-solving abilities even further by teaming up with the original Japanese knowledge that members of our community have.

BIG has been involved in numerous projects in Europe, North America, Asia, and the Middle East, and as of 2021 will be an international organization of more than 500 professionals, now the dream of architects around the world!
