Learning

Mitsubishi Estate Co., Ltd. has launched “Regenerative Community Tokyo,” a membership community for corporations engaged in businesses in these areas, with the aim of realizing a “regenerative” society by promoting sustainable businesses in the urban development of the OMY area in its “Long-Term Management Plan 2030. This movement has attracted attention from various quarters and has been featured in WIRED, a popular media outlet that accurately captures technology, life, and culture from a future-insight perspective.

WHY

Sustainability is challenging to achieve by an individual, a company, or an industry, since it requires a bird’s-eye view of complex social structural systems.

To create the ideal city of the future, sustainable organizations from various fields must gather, exchange knowledge, share goals, and collaborate on projects. Regenerative Community Tokyo is the base for such activities, and it is necessary to manage it in such a way that it operates organically as a knowledge community.

FOCUS

Focus on collaborative support for projects that work with overseas players, as well as regularly disseminating overseas knowledge, particularly from Europe, and encouraging exchanges with advanced sustainable community knowledge institutes overseas.

PROCESS

・Concept, Business model planning

OUTCOME

On May 16, 2024, we held a joint event and workshop with the BLOXHUB team from Denmark. The current members of the community have started to collaborate on projects with overseas players and to promote their own products, technologies, and methods overseas.
