Kazumitsu Yoshida Presents at MLIT Seminar on European Urban Development
On January 10, 2025, our representative, Mr. Yoshida, delivered a presentation at the 4th ‘GX Creation Meeting: Urban, Green and Carbon Neutral x Frontiers of Urban Policies Around the World’, hosted by Japan’s Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT). His talk focused on the distinctive features of European urban development, with a particular emphasis on the Netherlands.
Mr. Yoshida adopted a ‘book preface’ format, providing a concise overview of key principles and practical examples from European urban planning. This approach allowed him to share valuable insights into the innovative urban development strategies that have been successfully implemented across the continent.
The presentation highlighted the benefits of a comparative approach, enabling attendees to identify opportunities for cross-fertilisation between Japanese and European urban development practices. To further facilitate knowledge exchange, we have developed a concept for a new book entitled ‘Europe’s Regenerative Cities: A Blueprint for the Future’ (Japanese: リジェネラティブシティーだれも知らない欧州のまちづくり(〜だれまち〜)) which will offer a comprehensive guide to European urban planning best practices.
