Visited Epicenter Stockholm!

We recently had the pleasure of escorting a major Japanese research institute on a tour of Stockholm’s urban development initiatives. Given how many wonderful people assisted us along the way, I’d like to share what we learned from each location, one by one.

Let’s start with Epicenter Stockholm. Many of you are likely already familiar with this innovation hub. We had the privilege of speaking with Patrick Mesterton, the founder (who stepped down as CEO last year), who shared invaluable insights about how Epicenter Stockholm has contributed to revitalizing Stockholm’s city center.

While Epicenter Stockholm is famous as a cornerstone of Sweden’s startup ecosystem, our specific interest was understanding “why they’ve been able to contribute so effectively to urban revitalization.” (Through our research, we’ve recognized that they’ve made significant contributions to energizing Stockholm as a major city.)

Patrick addressed this precise question with authentic insights that simply can’t be found through internet searches. He generously made time for us, coming all the way from Japan, and shared truly valuable perspectives. He mentioned he’s currently focusing on building international relationships.
